  1. I’m glad the baby is in perfect health now, but still she should never have done that to her baby. She could have dislocated the baby’s arms and legs from doing that to the baby and other horrible things could have happened to that baby. I still do not retract my comments. If I saw someone doing that to a 2 week old baby I would be the first to call DCF. I know parenting is hard, I have 2 kids myself, but that is totally out of line. I feel sorry for that child.

  2. My god, calm down. The baby is three years old now and in perfect health. 

  3. Jillian you did an excellent job explaining the different types of yoga. Excellent information about “building up internal heat” vs “enduring external heat”. The style of Hot Yoga comes from the North American perception of India as “hot”. The irony is that in India, they do yoga at dawn & dusk, when it is cooler. It was very hard to watch the baby episode and if indeed it was a real baby, it was dangerous and inappropriate to put a new born through that. Swinging a child around is not yoga.

  9. Just go outside if we have a temp of 115! You will sweat like a pig, but are you getting a workout? No. You build heat for yoga through the breath. Just my 2 cents.

    I’ve actually cried too. Detoxing emotionally is hand in hand with detoxing the muscle. There is a new kind of Power Yoga that is just a 90-95 degree room… Is that also a no no?

  12. Janice is right! If you haven’t cried in yoga (or right after) you haven’t had a “release”.
    Or it may be possible you haven’t taken yoga long enough, or your instructor sucks.
    Yoga is transformative, and sometime some crazy/crazy/emotional shit comes up.

    thank you for making me feel ok about hating “hot” yoga. Some of my friends love it because they sweat so much. I tried it and it made me feel sick. I love Ashtanga (Power) yoga and Vinyasa.
