What kind of workout would you suggest for a beginner? Yoga, aerobics, weight lifting or something else to tone up and lose weight?
Is there a specific dvd that you would recommend?

Walking is excellent! Will get you in the pattern of exercising, you’ll begin to see results and you’ll be motivated to try other forms of exercsie like weight training, biking, step classes. Good luck! Buy new walking or running shoes so you don’t get injured.

    I always get on the treadmill. It is a good workout and you loose weight – guaranteed. If you like swimming that is also a great way to exercise and puts less stress on the body, you can do it for longer and also looses weight. Weight lifting is good but you must be careful to avoid injury.

  2. any of those work, personally I do weight lifting, and aerobic workouts every once in a while. If you can, get a trainer at the gym, otherwise do reps of 15-20 as you work out.

    DVDs…? maybe 8-min abs, or abs of steel.

    umm, begining pilates or yes, I do some running too!

  5. start easy. do brisk walking around your neighborhood for thirty minutes a day. after you get the hang of walking, you can start jogging or do an activity which you truly like or are good at (badminton, dancing, etc.). then you can move on to aerobics, pilates, yoga or whatever you want. you could also ask your doctor for a good exercise regimen that will work for you. remember to eat healthy too. eat your veggies and fruits. learn to love fish. stop drinking coke and other drinks that have sugar. i stopped drinking coke and other beverages and stuck with water and i feel great. work out with a friend–it’s a lot more fun that way. =)

  6. You can be a beginner at any of these things. Just remember to give your body a day of rest after each workout and drink plenty of fluids. I can not recommend a specific workout DVD but can recommend exercising at least 20-30 minutes every workout. After you find that you are losing weight, weight lifting is the ultimate for toning…I haven’t tried Yoga yet.

    Walk everyday or ride your bike! thats good exercise that doesnt tire you out real easily…and i actually lost 10 pounds in 1 week by only eating meat and not eating ANY foods that are WHITE or yellow…like no pastas potatoes BREAD rice etc… well goodluck!!

The first month, you should start with walking for 30 minutes 4 days a week. start at a moderate pace that challenges you, just a little, but shouldn’t leave you out of breath. make sure to swing your arms slightly. at month two, you should be able to walk 45 minutes 4 days a week. during this time, start to add light weight/resistance exercises for 20 minutes 3 days a week. during the third month, you could walk 45 minutes 5 days a week and complete weight/resistance training for 30 minutes 4 days a week. start with weights of 3 lbs and increase the weight every month up to 10lbs and increase the reps every 3 weeks. some good resistance exercises might be squats, lunges, leg lifts to the side and to the back, push ups, etc. other cardio workouts, instead of walking, are cycling, swimming, dancing, speed walking, jumping rope, and rollerblading. other activities will keep your routine from becoming too boring. yoga is good but start with a beginners class as it requires a lot of balance and concentration but can sculp long lean muscles when paired with pilates. good luck

    Try walking to start. But you should go to a place that has yoga, a place that has weight lifting, aerobics, nia and anything else that may interest you and watch for awhile, or just pay to go to one workout to see how it goes. If you don’t enjoy doing the workout, you have alot greater chances of quitting it, and doing nothing.
