Question by Jess: Is taking a Zumba class a good idea?
The University that I attend offers free Zumba, yoga, pilates, and dance classes to students. I’ve been wanting to go but haven’t. I danced for eight years through school, and Zumba looks fun, but exhausting. I guess what i’m asking is, have you found it fun enough to get past the exhausting part/ do you find it to be good exercise?

It’s pretty good exercise since you get your heart rate elevated for 30-60 minutes, depending on the length of the class. The trouble I had with Zumba is the instructor acted like everyone had been there before, even though she knew I had not, and didn’t give many clues as to what was coming up next. Everyone knew except me, so I felt lost. Hopefully your instructor will do a better job than mine. Just take a class and see if you like it. Only you will know if you think it’s enough fun to return.     yes zumba is a fun way of getting fit, being healthy and making new friends. Try and get a friend to go with you, different zumba classes are different as the one I go too will do a few songs then we all have a water break. Stand at the back of the class as you will find most people know the dance routines!
    Yoga and pilates are also good, if it is free then dont miss out. you may as well make the most of the offer!
