I will be staying at The Petnehazy Club Hotel Fishermans Bastion Budapest I’d like to know where the closest?

Question by CLAIRE F: I will be staying at The Petnehazy Club Hotel Fishermans Bastion Budapest I’d like to know where the closest?
yoga classes are held please and any opinions on the best classes to attend, I am beginner/intermediate, I am staying for 5 days Sunday until Friday so will probably go to 3 or 4 classes. Also how much would a taxi cost to get to the classes or is their a cheaper alternative way to travel, I believe the hotel has a free shuttle bus into town up to 6 km. Thank you.

I also love doing yoga and have been practicing just about everyday for the past 12-14 years.
i just moved to budapest and am very disappointed in the prices and the money grabbing attitude here with yoga classes. I suppose as you are only staying for a short time the price wouldn’t effect you much so I will give you a couple of site to look up. I am sorry to say I threw out the addresses of those on the Buda side of the river since there was no way I was going to take a couple of buses or the subway accross town with the crowds just to pay $ 15. for a class as we are living here on a tight budget.
Here are a couple of sites, most all are in Hungarian since most classes are held in Hungarian although there are a few places that have them in English or mixed language classes. I attened a yoga day at the mall a couple of months ago and collected this info.
( I guess I am spoiled with clubs in the US where you are a member and get free yoga classes with high quality instructors for about $ 20. amonth)

Hot Yoga

Bikram Yoga

Actually, I have found some sites on the Buda side of the river, here they are:
kayakalpyoga@gmail.com
Yoga in English
www.amalasattvajoga.hu
recepcio@jogakozpont.hu

Good luck, I have no idea how good they are but they cost usually somewhere about $ 9. to $ 15. a class, checked one place out and it was a dirty hole for $ 9. a class
Cabs is another issue

I brought many good yoga dvd’s,tapes and audio cd’s with me and am enjoying my practice on my own. Thinking of rejoining a ladies only fitness club that is about $ 25. a month but has no yoga classes, I could perhaps teach yoga there without any papers and do it for free as I believe it should be offered at a reasonable price for all.

  1. This yoga center is actually relatively close to your hotel:

According to Google Maps, it’s 3 km or 8 minutes by car from your hotel.
