Has prenatal yoga helped in delivery?

Question by retrobw: Has prenatal yoga helped in delivery?
Has anyone tried prenatal yoga and notices a decline in nausea and some help in pregnancy and delivery?
I’m close to 9 weeks and was looking into it, I used to do yoga before pregnancy, and I know you have to approach yoga differently while pregnant.

  1. I don’t know about delivery because I am just 21 weeks but I have been doing a pre-natal yoga DVD since my first trimester and I love it! It’s customized for pregnant women and demonstrates the poses being done by three people, the instructor who you follow if you are in your first trimester, a woman in her 2nd as well as one in her third. I do the workout once a week in addition to my two mile+ walks. I think that exercise is so important during pregnancy and everything I have read says that it will indeed help make for an easier delivery. Here is a link to the DVD that I own at Amazon, you can read the reviews and see if it is for you. It is a little intense but if you have been doing yoga a while it should be fine. 2. Yoga is known for improving a person’s focus and awareness. When in delivery, this enhanced concentration can assist you during and in between contractions, allowing you to concentrate on certain areas of the body, focus on relaxing these areas and yourself.
