Does anyone have any advice on planning a yoga class?

Question by erin: Does anyone have any advice on planning a yoga class?
I have been assigned (by my internship) to plan a yoga class. I wasn’t given any guidelines (don’t know where, if we have a budget, who is going to be the instructor, etc…), and I don’t even know where to begin! It is just supposed to be a one day class (like a beginner’s one), and I have never even done yoga in my life. Any suggestions??

Yes have a seperate timetable for different age groups. So for elderly maybe in the morning, and adults in the afternoon and say 10 – 16 yr olds in the evening.

  1. Do you mean you have to plan the lesson for a yoga class or just schedule one? If you haven’t trained in yoga it would be unsafe for you to plan a yoga class lesson or pose sequence yourself. If you don’t have a budget and are looking for a teacher, you could always try Yogafit’s forum. Their new instructors have to do community service and free classes as part of their training.
