Can I do regular yoga classes when I am pregnant? Reviews

Question by justintime: Can I do regular yoga classes when I am pregnant?
My gym only offers regular yoga. What poses will I need to avoid, in general? I plan on speaking with the instructor too, just want to know if I can get excited about benefiting from this free class.

OH YES!! good for body and mind.

there r some things u cant do.
but im pretty sure ur doctor/movie/yoga instructer will tell u these things.

  2. Inverted poses where your head is lower than the rest of your body for prolonged periods is not recommended during pregnancy. Just ask your teacher what poses you should refrain from. Yoga in general is great exercise when pregnant!

  3. I personally have never done yoga while pregnant, but I know that some women swear by it. Ive heard that because its so low impact, its a great form of exercise. Not to mention it helps you to focus your breathing while going through contractions.

I have always been someone that was very physically active, even while pregnant. I still go to the gym 3 days a week and work out. It has done nothing but benefit me. In my situation, I had spoken to the trainers at the gym, after I did some research of my own. I had read up on exercising while pregnant first, and then asked their opinion on my findings. They were more than happy to help me and offered great suggestions, in place of certain exercises.

I would suggest you go with your plan to talk to the instructor, because they may have a plan you can modify to fit your needs being pregnant. I would look up some stuff on yoga in the meantime, and see if you can find a plan to use along side what is being taught in the regular class.

Hope this helps and good luck 🙂
