There are many different types of yoga (Bikram Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga , Iyengar Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Jivamukti Yoga, Prenatal Yoga) to put into practice, it is important to know what type of yoga is right for you. Here is a brief introduction to some of the more common and popular yoga: Bikram Yoga – Get ready to practice yoga in 105 degree heat and 40% humidity – hot! Although only 26 Bikram poses and there are many alignment work so it might be a good choice for beginners. HATHA YOGA – Class Is Also Likely to be focused on slow, gentle movements so it’s a great type of yoga to relax the night. Vinyasa Yoga – commonly called “Vinyasa Flow” or simply “flow”, you’ll definitely be in motion, flowing from one posture to another. Other than starting with a sun salutation, the two classes will same. This is the most popular style of yoga in America. KUNDALINI YOGA – ‘Kundalini’ Refers to the energy of the root chakra, Which surrounds the area around your lower spine. Expect a lot of work in your “center” and the classes are known to be pretty intense. Ashtanga Yoga – Commonly called Power Yoga, Ashtanga is really Physically demanding., It is probably best suited for a former athlete or someone looking to really push Their bodies. Iyengar yoga – Expect a lot of accessories with this type of yoga such as blocks, harnesses, straps, and even cushions.   1. To my knowledge, you are right that Hatha is one of the six disciplines of origin, or yogas of origin, but it is a generic term for any yoga which concentrates on physical stimuli only. Ashtanga, Bikram, Kundalini yoga and power would therefore be considered as Hatha yoga. I hope I am right, I remember reading that somewhere. Super video!
